The long-running sandbox game Terraria has now sold 58.7 million copies, according to developer Re-Logic.

Looking back on the game on its forums, the developer noted its growth since its initial May 2011 launch. Nearly 32 million of its current sales are from the PC market.

For further comparison, it sold over 35 million copies ahead of its 10th birthday back in 2021, meaning sales have shot up over the past three years.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is reportedly getting a co-op mode after the game’s launch, and is codenamed “League.”

This is according to Insider Gaming, which notes that details on the co-op mode are scarce. The report speculates that it could allow for dual protagonists Naoe and Yasuke to fight alongside one another, although that detail is unconfirmed. Shadows was recently delayed to February 14, 2025; it’s unclear if the co-op mode will be available right at launch.

While Assassin’s Creed is predominately a single-player franchise, it has included multiplayer options in the past. However, the only other entry that had co-op was Unity, where players could run around Paris completing various missions.

According to the hotfix 7.0.0.7 patch notes, the biggest tweaks are focused on Lightfall’s Root of Nightmares raid, two underperforming Exotics, and the way commendations factor into Guardian Ranks.

EA’s big RPG studio BioWare is cutting numerous jobs in what the studio is calling an “extremely difficult” but necessary move. In a blog post, BioWare GM Gary McKay said the studio “must shift towards a more agile and more focused studio” so developers can work more efficiently, and layoffs will help the company get there. Alongside this, EA is reportedly no longer working with a group of playtsters for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf that voted to unionize in 2022.

Sophie Turner is joining the cast of The Staircase, HBO Max’s adaptation of the 2004 docuseries The Staircase, according to a report from Variety.

Turner joins Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Parker Posey, and more; the Game of Thrones actor will play the role of main character Michael Peterson’s adopted daughter Margaret Ratliff in the eight-episode limited series.

The Staircase, like the docuseries before it, follows the case of author Michael Peterson (Firth), accused of murdering his wife Kathleen (Collette). Peterson claimed at the time that his wife had fallen down the titular staircase, but police suspected Peterson’s involvement and he was convicted in 2003.
